Quick Tip
The Main Purpose
At first blush, it seems like something Captain Obvious would say...
"The main purpose of marketing is to find who your customers are. And your customers are people who send you money, not the people who don't. So it's not about finding people, it's about finding buyers.
But when you take the time to think about it - and compare it to most of the marketing you see - you see there is a lot of power in that statement.
BTW, that's from Todd Brown, one of the heavyweights when it comes to building marketing funnels.
Too many times we think our job as marketers is all about "generating buzz", "driving traffic", or "generating leads."
Our job is to get in front of people most likely to purchase.
That's why when I talk about building your Dream 100 list, I suggest starting by looking at your best buyers.
We want to learn as much about them as we can... so that we can find more buyers like them.
Your best buyers.
Obsess on finding them. Targeting them. Acquiring them.
Make focusing on buyers the main purpose of your marketing.
Yours for smarter marketing,
Bill

The FCC wants you to rat on your ISP
The FCC no longer wants to take your internet service providers' (ISPs) word when they say they’re maintaining the connection speeds required by law - so they are turning to the public for help.
They want you to use their app to help gather speed-test data. They claim their app is doubly smart because it’ll collect a lot of data in a way that isn’t subject to bias (you can’t lie to a speed test unless you’re a hacker).
