Quick Tip

2021 Part 2

Welcome Back! How was your 4th?

I hope you had time to relax and recharge your batteries as we head into the second half of the year.

Yep, we're past the midpoint already. Crazy how time flies.

What's your plan for part 2 of 2021?

Do you need to keep chugging along, steady as she goes, to reach your goals?

Or is it time to finally tackle that new project/initiative/idea that's been lingering on your to-do list?

If you're anything like me, you have a long list of things you want to accomplish.

Things you want to learn. New things to try.

My "someday list" can get a little distracting.

So a few years ago, I started putting 2 things on my calendar for the first weekend in July.

The first is a reminder to re-read Warren Buffett's 2 list strategy (see below). This strategy helps me to refocus.

The second one is this quote from Mark Twain.

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking all of your complex, overwhelming tasks into small, manageable tasks, and then starting with the first one.

I pick one goal from my Buffett List 1 and use Twain's advice to get started on it.

It's a great 1-2 punch to keep me unstuck and moving forward.

I hope you'll find it helpful too.

Talk to you next week,

Bill
